The festival is held on the 4th of lunar January every year at Tien Pagoda, Phu Lao commune, Lac Thuy district.
The focal points of the festival are: Mau Temple, Trinh Temple, Trung Communal House, Tien Pagoda, Tam Toa Cave. At the festival, sumptuous processions and solemn ceremonies take place to show gratitude towards deities who are believed to render services to the village and the country and to wish for a prosperous New Year and abundant crops.
At the festival, visitors may join the procession and participate in unique folk games. The festival creates an opportunity for people to show their faith and to satisfy the traditional need for learning about psychic culture.
